Council approves ordinance to let council serve as affiliate board for Keep Ballinger Beautiful

The Ballinger City Council approved Ordinance 2025-012-000 to designate the city council as the board for Keep Ballinger Beautiful, putting the program under the council’s oversight and enabling the use of city funds and grant applications to support community cleanups.

A council member said the group already secured a $3,000 grant to repair electrical work at the recycle center and that the city covers costs for spring and fall cleanups, including dumpsters and supplies. "We have already received… a grant for Keep Ballinger Beautiful," one speaker said, and council discussed a $200 annual affiliate fee and the benefits of partnering with corporate sponsors.

Council members asked about written guidelines for the affiliate; staff said a description is being drafted. The ordinance passed after a motion, second and a voice vote recorded as "aye."
