Museum staff plan tree removals and display refresh to protect artifacts

Bryce Lemelle told the commission that grounds improvements at the museum yard include added pea gravel and plans to remove two problematic trees that are dead or dying: "1 is completely dead, and so that will be, removed, I think, sometime this year." He said removing the trees will reduce debris on outdoor artifacts and improve visitor safety.

Inside the museum staff recommended removing bark around a mural's support post and simplifying display cases so artifacts stand out. Bryce said the mural and related display changes would be brought back to the commission for discussion and input before any final action. The items were presented for information and no formal vote was requested.
