The Weber County Commission approved resolution 19‑26 on May 12, authorizing an interlocal agreement with Plain City to complete road improvements and acquire right-of-way on 2200 North.
"This involves 2200 North, and, essentially, this agreement says that the county will complete certain road improvements on 2200 North... It also includes property acquisition to acquire the necessary right of way for those improvements," staff member Sean Wilkinson summarized to the commission. Wilkinson said that when the county completes those improvements Plains City will "within 60 days adopt an ordinance approving the annexation."
Commissioners had no substantive questions at the time and voted to approve the resolution. Chair Forell conducted a roll-call vote; commissioners present voted in favor and Forell announced "Motion carries."
The interlocal implements previously approved county action—Wilkinson noted the annexation areas were identified in an exhibit and referenced a resolution passed by the commission last year. The agreement authorizes county work, property acquisition and a defined, 60‑day window for Plain City to adopt annexation following completion of the improvements.
