Commission holds transfer of 2026 tax revenue to new Ogden Valley City until May 19

The commission considered a resolution to transfer 2026 tax revenues to the newly formed Ogden Valley City but agreed to delay action for one week to verify statutory coverage of the affected tax sources.

County staff member Chris Crockett briefed the commission and requested a short delay to ensure all tax-source revenues were addressed. "We just decided to to do one more week to make sure that we've got everything covered and addressed that we need to," Crockett said. Commissioners moved to hold the resolution and set a date-certain for May 19.

Chair Forell called for a motion, the motion to hold was made and seconded, and the commission voted to hold the item. The delay gives staff time to confirm statutory timelines and finalize the transfer language before the matter returns to the commission on May 19.
