Board approves in‑home spiritual counseling, web design business with limits on hours and parking

The Shapleigh Planning Board approved a conditional‑use permit allowing spiritual counseling and web design to be operated from a residence at 94 Cato's Nose Road, with conditions restricting hours, parking and exterior impacts.

Chair outlined that the structure is a grandfathered residence and the board found no exterior changes were proposed. The board adopted five conditions, including that "Hours of operation shall be 9AM through 5PM, 7 days a week with all activity taking place within the residence," that no bright or dazzling lights may shine onto neighboring properties, a limit of two additional on‑site vehicles during operating hours, and that any signage must be handled through the code enforcement office. The board also noted the HHE‑200 septic record on file and that the use would not adversely affect wetlands or spawning grounds if the planting buffers remain intact.

The decision was recorded and the applicant will receive a letter confirming the permit and conditions; the board directed code enforcement to take action if conditions are not met.
