HDC accepts consulting-party invitation for North End stormwater project under Section 106

Commissioners accepted a formal invitation to be a consulting party for a federally funded stormwater infrastructure project in the North End. A commissioner explained that because the project uses federal funds it triggers review under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; staff recommended a finding of no adverse effect because the work is in the public right of way and outside the local district.

The commission will be able to review materials as the project progresses and submit comments. The invitation was accepted and will place the HDC on the distribution list for future submissions related to the project.
