Commission elects Monte Deacon as vice chair

Following the resignation of Richard McGinnis from the Planning Commission, staff opened nominations for vice chair. A commissioner nominated Monte Deacon and the nomination was seconded; the commission elected Deacon by roll-call vote.

City staff (Melissa) noted the city council is processing a nomination to fill the vacant commission seat and that reappointments will be considered at the July 28 council meeting. Commissioners said they will confirm chair and vice chair elections after council reappointments in August as a housekeeping matter.
