Fitchburg sets Sept. 27 sustainability walking tour focusing on infiltration features and accessibility

Organizers laid out a walking sustainability tour for Sept. 27 designed to showcase neighborhood infiltration features, native plantings and the boardwalk. "The date is September 27. It's a Sunday... probably around 2 or 3," a committee member said while outlining a two‑mile route beginning at Forest Edge School and concluding with a possible Q&A at a local coffee shop.

The group discussed accessibility supports (an outdoor wheelchair and accessible cycles) and options to include bike‑friendly routes; organizers aim to keep the tour to roughly 90 minutes with multiple stop‑and‑talk stations so participants can ask questions and view demonstration sites.
