Council hears airport fund update: rent grant and hangar maintenance included in FY2026 draft

Staff reviewed airport fund items in the draft FY2026 budget, including grants, hanger maintenance and a rent grant. Lindsay told council she had spoken with airport staff and an external adviser; she said one grant is not time-sensitive and the budget includes $10,000 for hanger maintenance.

Lindsay said, "the rent grant, that's $211,000. But we will get in a 190,000, so we'll pay out 20,000 of that, just on our cost." She said hanger maintenance has a $10,000 line and that staff started a hanger maintenance item and a small reserve for house maintenance in the fund.

Council did not act on grant applications at the workshop but logged the items for further processing. Staff will continue to work with airport representatives to sequence grant applications and maintenance work in the fund.
