Organizers ask to use 8th Street for Ballinger homecoming gathering

A resident told the Ballinger City Council she planned a post-homecoming gathering on Friday, Sept. 12, and asked for approval to use 8th Street with tables and chairs and asked whether the city required security guards. She described the setup and said Brandon Fulton has agreed to play music: "Brandon Fulton has agreed to be playing music ... The Gilded Spur is gonna be open, and I feel like we're gonna need overflow room for people that just wanna sit outside and do business." The resident said activities begin with a pep rally and that the gathering would start after the game, around 7–9 p.m.

Council members questioned the shutdown time, coordination with the football schedule, and whether city resources (security or chairs) could be provided.
