Residents press council on partial paving, potholes and commuter parking

Multiple residents used the public-comment period to press the council on local infrastructure and parking. Jim Lee said his street in the Frost area had been half-milled and half-paved, leaving one side in poor condition and multiple potholes; he asked staff to inspect and address the site. "They milled 0.5 of the street and paved 0.5 of the street, and they're not paving or milling the other 0.5 of the street," Lee said.

Council and staff explained utilities are required to restore only the area they excavate ("to equal or better"), that utility sequencing and trench restoration can create patchwork outcomes, and that engineering is coordinating potential trades or future waterline work so that full paving isn't undone by near-term utility repairs. Separately, Shabib Jaffrey requested that the township expand two-hour parking limits to his court to reduce long-term commuter parking; staff said the traffic safety unit and police make recommendations to council for ordinance updates.
