City manager Dr. Moore told council the Maverick development on Don Diego is in phase 3 and that crews were actively working on inspections and utility connections. "They're pushing. They're trying to get things through and get inspections done," he said, noting engineers expect streetlight relocations and sidewalk work to proceed as design and grant funding allow.
Dr. Moore also reported that a new ambulance was delivered to the city and will be fitted with medical equipment before entering service; he said the existing rescue vehicles are nearly 10 years old. He described a reported safety issue: a roughly 30‑foot section of exposed high‑pressure gas line near Don Diego had been reported and 811 and New Mexico Gas were coordinating remediation and erosion control. Public works also reported replacement of two speed‑bump pieces on Hillandale.
