Board approves updated Beginning Teacher Support Plan tied to state budget changes

Assistant Superintendent Adrian Dula presented an updated Beginning Teacher Support Plan the board had approved in May but that required edits after state budget changes. Dula walked the board through specific page changes: language on converting initial licenses to continuing licenses (page 3), professional development plan (PDP) language to include principals (page 8), evaluation policy updates (page 17), and file‑security language for beginning teacher files (page 18).

"With the state board budget, there were some changes that we needed to add to our plan before we are approved by the state board of education," Dula said. Board members asked clarifying questions and then approved the updated plan by voice vote. Dula noted all edits were highlighted in the plan and invited any questions.
