Housing and zoning committee to forward 20 items including tourism improvement district report

Vice Chair (reporting to the Committee of the Whole) summarized the committee’s 20 items slated for Thursday’s council meeting, calling attention to several items with community impact such as a rezoning application for the Neighborhood Development Center at 2941 Chicago Avenue, loan forgiveness for Lindquist Apartments (1931 W Broadway Ave), multiple liquor‑license approvals and renewals, and an upcoming resolution to continue the Minneapolis Tourism Improvement District service charge. She highlighted the tourism district’s first annual report and thanked Council Members Rainville and Wansley for authoring the ordinance that created the district.

Members did not ask substantive questions about the report during the Committee of the Whole, and the item will proceed to the full council. Staff noted several items were sent without recommendation and flagged the tourism improvement district report for members to review before Thursday.
