Parks pavilions, pump track and public‑safety updates presented to council

City staff provided a series of departmental updates: park pavilions are under construction and staff said they expect substantial completion by the end of August, with additional related work extending to September. Staff also clarified the pump track is intended for bicycles rather than as a skate park.

On public safety, staff said there were 128 responses in July with 102 transports to hospitals; personnel achievements included a member graduating from the National Fire Academy and completion of arson training. Staff also noted an officer award and upcoming promotions. Resident Aaron Pryor recounted recovering a dog that had been missing for a year.

"They're putting those together. They think they'll be substantially complete by the end of August," Abigail said of the pavilions. Aaron Pryor described the dog recovery during the reports section.
