Council approves $14,999 Doppler notification module for emergency alerts

Council members voted to approve adding a Doppler Notify module to the town’s existing Doppler notification system for $14,999. Staff said the price matches other modules in the town’s contract and that the tool could have helped with a recent water-main incident by notifying affected customers more quickly.

Council members asked about the contract term (some packets showed a two-year term while other paperwork indicated a three-year span); staff said they would confirm and align the module’s term with the town’s existing agreement. “So we’re here again tonight to add the Doppler notify module to our current Doppler system, for $14,999,” the staff presenter said. The motion to approve the purchase passed with all in favor.
