Engineer: I‑Bank grant ranked and Atlantic/Janet Street set for public bid in September

Engineer Mr. Monak told council his team is reporting on six projects, including a successful 2027 I‑Bank grant application that was ranked by the New Jersey Department of (program) for $2,000,000 in principal forgiveness. "The grant application was successfully submitted and ranked by the NJDP for $2,000,000 in principal forgiveness," he said.

Monak also updated the council on the municipal‑aid reconstruction of Atlantic and Janet Street, describing it as in final design with plans to advertise for public bid in September and an anticipated award in October so work can be completed before winter. He advised the borough to tighten schedules and be aggressive in pursuing funds because DEP funding for 2027 will be allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and noted that some remediation work remains on other NJDOT projects before final paving.
