Council to use property‑maintenance code after mayor calls 110 East Barber a 'junkyard'

Council members reviewed active code enforcement cases and a timeline of upcoming hearings. "It is a junkyard from sides to the front," the mayor said when describing the condition at 110 East Barber Avenue. Council directed that the council president chair a committee, with the mayor and other members participating, to coordinate with the borough's enforcement official and pursue removal of violations if property owners do not comply. Staff said photographs have been taken and that the committee will meet to plan next steps.
