Commissioners table West Central Development District contract, request bill and counsel review

Red Willow County commissioners discussed the West Central Nebraska Development District (WCNDD) contract and possible termination after receiving a bill for more than $10,000 for work done on comprehensive planning and zoning regulation updates. Chairman Ted Gans reported investigating termination options; Commissioners expressed concern about the charge and lack of clarity on work performed.

Commissioner Charles Fritsche moved, and Commissioner Randy Dean seconded, to table the matter, ask WCNDD to provide documentation of work completed to date, and consult with attorney Paul Wood. The motion passed by roll call vote with all commissioners voting aye. No final action was taken; the item will return for further review once the documentation and counsel input are available.
