Monte Sereno youth commission sets ice cream social for May 5, invites supervisor

The Monte Sereno Youth Commission agreed to host its annual ice cream social on May 5, a brief neighborhood event the commission said is intended to increase community engagement and introduce residents to city meetings. Staff told commissioners the event will start at 5:00 p.m. with "a hard stop at 6 because we do have a special meeting starting at 6." (Staff member)

Commissioners discussed decorations, outreach and logistics, including flyers, door-to-door distribution and an e-blast; one commissioner said last year's attendance ranged from about 30 to 50 people. Staff also noted Supervisor Abby Koga expressed interest in attending and the commission agreed to invite her. The commission said it will finalize flyer text and distribution and asked members to commit to setup, staffing and outreach.
