Board begins strategic planning with SWOT exercise; communications projects planned

At the end of the meeting, the board conducted a facilitated SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) exercise to generate strategic priorities and discussed communications projects to raise awareness of library services.

Chair (S1) led the post‑it activity and described next steps: staff will photograph and summarize the post‑its, produce an affinity diagram and circulate a spreadsheet so board members can vote on priorities at a future session. Communications committee members described a map of library‑card distribution and planned a bulletin item about hours and new offerings.

Board members agreed to small monthly working sessions to synthesize themes and to prepare materials (QR posters, outreach plans) for public distribution.
