Chair to bring Level 2 EV charging proposal for Town Green to next meeting

Chair Ian Albinson told the Selectboard he will present a Level 2 electric vehicle charging proposal for a Town Green site at the Park Place/Park Street/North Street corner at the next meeting. Albinson said updated quotes from Cummings Electric were substantially better than earlier estimates and he expects the previously awarded grant will cover the Level 2 installation cost; he is confirming that funds remain available.

Albinson said a Level 2 installation is simpler (no three-phase power required) and would encourage drivers to park and visit downtown; that option was preferred over installing a charger in the nearby Walgreens lot, which would add an estimated $5,000–$6,000 to trench and connect power. He noted Level 3 plans are paused due to complications. The proposal will include a mock-up and slides at the next meeting.
