Russell County fiscal court gives first reading to FY 2627 budget amendment

The Russell County fiscal court conducted the first reading of Ordinance 2602, a proposed amendment to the FY 2627 budget, during its Aug. 10 meeting. The ordinance lists amended receipts and appropriations across the general, road, jail, opioid, tourism and airport funds and sets a second reading for next month's meeting.

The reading included itemized figures for receipts and appropriations. As read into the record, the ordinance opens: "Ordinance 26 0 2, an ordinance relating to the fiscal year 2627," and lists amended receipts including a general fund amount and line items for the road fund, jail fund, LGEA, grants, opioid and tourism funds. Court members did not vote on final adoption during the meeting; the ordinance will return for a second reading at the next regular meeting.
