Officials address truck traffic complaints near local construction site; extra patrols and signage planned

Magistrates raised residents' complaints about construction trucks using unauthorized county roads near a local development and said they had discussed the issue with the project's construction manager, Mark Miller of Discovery Solo. A magistrate said the company will add signage to deter truck drivers from using secondary roads.

Sheriff's-office representatives said deputies and state police have stepped up patrols in the area to monitor truck traffic and to protect students during school loading and unloading. "We are aware of it, and the construction people have been made aware of it," a sheriff's office speaker said, noting patrols were increased and additional signage is being pursued to reduce unsafe truck movements through residential areas.
