Farmers market kickoff set for Aug. 21, organizers tell Bellbrook council
Jen LeClaire, speaking for the Bellbrook Farmers Market interim steering committee, told the council the market will open with a ribbon-cutting at the City Building parking lot on Friday, Aug. 21, with the markets running Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. She said the kickoff will include musicians and around 15 to 20 vendors offering local produce, honey and other foods. "We're having a kickoff with a ribbon cutting the 1st market, which is gonna be in the City Building parking lot on, Friday, August 21, at right before 4PM," LeClaire said.

LeClaire thanked the city for its support and said the committee will circulate flyers that will soon carry the city logo as an indicator of municipal support. Council members asked her to coordinate event timing with the high school football schedule and to work with police on traffic and safety plans; LeClaire agreed and asked for contacts to facilitate coordination. The mayor and council encouraged the organizers and expressed support for the event.
