Council hears public-safety update; ladder truck estimated at $1.1M–$1.75M

Logan, reporting for the public-safety committee, told the council that progress on new fire hires is going well and that the department appreciates the council's funding approvals. He said the committee will next evaluate purchase options for a ladder truck and cited a rough cost range: "It's between 1.1 and $1,750,000," Logan said.

Logan also reported police staffing updates: Detective Josh Warren has left his prior position and is now the school's resource officer, replacing Officer Bennington; one new hire starts on the 17th and another is in process, leaving two open positions in the police department. The committee noted preparations for the Lions Club Festival and other upcoming community events.
