Board backs sending updated Local Comprehensive Plan to voters

Planning staff presented the July 2026 Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP) for adoption at the Fall town meeting, describing a multi-year process that included workshops, working groups, repeated redline revisions and multiple public hearings. Brian Tobin (speaker 12) told the board the final plan is available on the Planning Department web page and at the town clerk's office and said the index brings the full document to roughly 404 pages.

Board members thanked staff for the transparent process; a motion to add and recommend the LCP adoption article to the warrant passed unanimously. The Select Board's action places the adoption question before voters at the October town meeting; the final plan will be available for public review online and at town offices prior to that vote. "With the index, if I'm recalling correctly, it's 404 pages," Brian Tobin said when asked about length.
