Selectboard appoints Molly Mashtare as town assessor

The Westford Selectboard unanimously appointed Molly Mashtare as town assessor following a two-step interview process and office visits. Tommy O’Connor, the Town Administrator, recommended Mashtare after phone and in-person meetings and said the candidate had met staff and reviewed the role.

Julia Andrews moved to appoint M. Mashtare and D. Jorschick seconded; the motion "passed unanimously 5-0." The board framed the hire as timely given recent turnover and discussed supporting the transition with improved internal tracking so the assessor and new treasurer have clearer financial records to work from. T. O’Connor told the board there will be follow-up steps to ensure office systems provide a clear image of status.
