Selectboard agrees to review IT contract, payroll modernization and ACH payments

The Selectboard reviewed the town’s IT contract and an older proposal and agreed to assess breach-of-contract risks, service improvement opportunities, and consequences of switching vendors. The discussion centered on service levels and whether a new contract would be a net improvement.

Board members focused on practical office improvements including payroll software that provides "digital clock-in and clock out" and more accurate accrual tracking, and shifting vendors away from paper checks toward ACH payments. The board directed Town Administrator T. O’Connor to research software platforms that perform similar functions to the New England Municipal Research Center platform but may produce higher-quality outputs for Westford.
