Charter Revision Commission adopts Robert's Rules of Order after brief debate

During procedural business the commission voted to adopt Robert's Rules of Order as its formal meeting procedure. Commissioner Sam moved to adopt the rules and Bobby Mills seconded the motion; members debated whether the parliamentary procedure would limit discussion or help streamline meetings.

"I would just like to... make a motion to formally adopt Robert's rules of order," Sam said before the group debated and voted. Chair called for a verbal vote; commissioners recorded the motion as passed with one vocal opposition and the chair declared the motion carried. The vote gives the commission a standard parliamentary framework it can suspend by motion if members wish to allow extended discussion on particular items.
