Staff outlines budget amendments including $65,000 personnel savings and $103,000 rise in services

Miller said the current-year review shows a personnel savings of roughly $65,000 and an increase in supplies and services of about $103,000, largely to cover the FM 407 village-connector study and an FM 2499 tunnel abrasion study, plus minor costs for signs, barriers and a leased work truck.

Miller said amendments are needed when expenses exceed department-level appropriation authority, and that staff would present the final amendment package to council for approval. No binding appropriations were adopted by the CDC at the Aug. 10 meeting; staff framed the proposals and said council action is required to change the adopted budget.

"So for personnel we have actually a savings of $65,000 but for supplies and services, we have an increase of $103,000 and that's primarily, represents the FM 407 village connector study and also the FM 2499 tunnel abrasion study," Miller said during the presentation.

The board asked clarifying questions about which fiscal year the amendments would affect and about typographical errors in the packet before thanking Miller and moving to the next agenda item.
