Select Board approves $4,298 camera upgrade and $14,900 in municipal building expenditures

The Select Board on Aug. 10 approved two municipal building expenditures from the Municipal Building and Facilities expendable trust fund.

The IT director (S11, addressed in the meeting as 'Mister Syed') requested $4,298 to upgrade the town‑clerk camera system to match other town buildings; staff said there were sufficient funds in the municipal building trust fund and the vendor could install the system in early September. The board approved the request by motion and voice vote.

Separately, the town administrator (S3) requested $14,900 from the municipal building account to refinish hallway and lobby floors ($4,200), rekey exterior doors ($2,500) and complete phases A and B of ADA assessments ($8,200). Staff said the work was discussed at a May workshop and the board voted to approve the expenditure by voice vote.

Board members asked only clarifying questions about account balances and installation timing; staff reported a municipal building trust fund balance referenced in the meeting and said they could proceed with the work if approved.
