Board chair apologizes for last-minute Title IX motion; board agrees to improve transparency

The board chair opened discussion on the board code of conduct by acknowledging a procedural lapse: the chair said they allowed a Title IX motion at the March 4 meeting without placing it on the agenda in advance and "took full responsibility" for the misstep. The chair said they have adjusted their process to share updates more immediately and transparently going forward.

Superintendent Dr. Foley said he and the chair met for a two-hour discussion after the March 4 meeting and emphasized a "no-surprise" approach between administration and the board. Several board members requested that administration input on current policies and implementation be added to a future agenda and emphasized listening to community concerns before taking further action.
