Hood River — Council approved a staff request to amend the contract with FFA Architecture for technical assistance preparing an Oregon Seismic Rehabilitation Grant application tied to the police-station renovation project.
Staff said seismic grants are available up to $2.5 million for direct strengthening activities and that FFA has the technical capability to prepare the engineering reports and grant application work. The requested amendment is $11,700, which would bring the total FFA contract to $27,400; the fee would be paid from general-fund contingency since it was not anticipated in the budget. Staff noted that if the bond measure passes, some of these costs may be bond‑eligible and reimbursable under GAAP rules.
Council voted to authorize the city manager to execute the contract amendment so the city can pursue the current grant round without delaying grant-application deadlines.
