Board reviews square footage comparison for current and new district offices; portables may be repurposed

District facilities staff presented a space analysis comparing the current district office and the new Professional Administration Building. The presenter said the district counted office spaces at the current district office, boardroom and several satellite spaces (including Crossroads, Dutch Fork High and Gibbs Street) and then subtracted professional development and lobby areas from the new building to isolate office square footage.

"We would be adding about 2,733 additional square footage, office space to the new build," the facilities staff member said, explaining that the net change in office area is under 1% but that seating capacity would increase by approximately 5% through efficiency gains. Trustees asked whether the old district office building will remain in whole or part and whether portions with mold or age issues would be removed; staff said specifics on demolition/retention have not been finalized and that repurposing school‑side spaces would be evaluated once staff relocate.
