Committee considers replacing 72-inch culvert on Nadine to improve fish passage; grant funding possible

Staff member informed the committee that one culvert on Nadine is failing and that the town is considering replacing a rotting 72-inch CMP (corrugated metal pipe) with an open-body box culvert to enable fish and animal passage. "We're gonna switch from a 72 inch, CMP, which is all rotting out, to the open body box cover," the staff member said, and added that there "may be some grant funding available for that because it's opening it up for fish and animal passage."

Committee members discussed the potential for grant support and asked staff to pursue funding options. No final funding decision was taken; staff said they will follow up as they assess grant eligibility and remaining budget in September.
