Commission to follow up with landowner about 100-acre parcel abutting Doherty

Members reported contact with an owner of roughly 100 acres adjacent to the Doherty parcel who expressed interest in working with the commission. A commission member said the two parcels total about 100 acres and that the owner appears willing to discuss options; the member volunteered to reach out to the owner and to arrange a site visit with staff and other commissioners.

The commission did not vote to pursue acquisition at the meeting; members asked staff to set up a site visit, share GPS points from a previous survey, and report back with additional detail. A separate item discussed a possible family sale of two 50-acre lots adjacent to La Riviere; the member who mentioned that land said she would recuse herself from any vote involving her relatives.
