Commissioners approve $75,000 amendment to child-therapy contract at Child Advocacy Center

The Board approved an amendment to its contract with Mental Health Services for Clark and Madison Counties, Inc., increasing the total contract value from $150,000 to $225,000 to provide on-site child therapists at the Clark County Child Advocacy Center.

Resolution 2026-0592 adds $75,000 in funding, drawing from the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant and Children Services Levy funds, and extends the contract one year (new term Oct. 1, 2026–Sept. 30, 2027). Commissioner Patterson moved the amendment; the motion passed unanimously. The County Administrator was authorized to execute the contract amendment and related documents.

Meeting minutes state the amendment is intended to maintain the availability of on-site therapeutic services for children served by the Child Advocacy Center.
