Commissioners approve CDBG transfer to Silver Creek Bridge project

Bee County Commissioners Court voted on Aug. 10 to approve a transfer of CDBG funds (E996) from County Road 631 to the Silver Creek Bridge project, following recommendations from a special-called meetings’ engineering report dated July 27, 2026.

The presiding officer explained that the correct funding source for the item is CDBG E996 rather than county tax revenue and described both CDBG and American Rescue Plan Act funds as third-party grant funds with conditions attached. Commissioner Elias moved to approve the engineering recommendations; the motion passed by voice vote.

Commissioner Elias said he will host a town meeting for Poplar/Lodi residents when design details are finalized. The court recorded no additional amendments to the transfer during the meeting.
