Board designates Globe Gazette, Clear Lake Mirror Reporter and River Register as county’s official newspapers

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 10, 2026, adopted Resolution 2026-02A designating official newspapers for 2026. Vice Chairman Carl Ginapp moved the resolution, which names the Globe Gazette (North Iowa Media Group), the Clear Lake Mirror Reporter (Mid-America Publishing Corp) and the River Register (Nelson Media) as the county's official publications for legal notices and board proceedings; the motion passed unanimously.

The minutes state the resolution was adopted "WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 349.1, 1995 Code of Iowa, North Iowa Media Group (Globe Gazette), Mid-America Publishing Corp (Clear Lake Mirror Reporter), and Nelson Media (River Register) have made applications to be designated as official newspapers in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, for the year 2026," and that "no other applicants have been filed." The board recorded the designation without recorded dissent.
