The Mendota Unified School District Board of Trustees on April 22 approved a slate of teaching appointments for the 2015–16 school year following closed-session consideration.
The board approved hires including Adam Hix (Mendota High School, math), Carlos Tamayo (McCabe Elementary), Jeanette Arevalo, Alexis Ceja, Guadalupe Maytey Delgado, Victor Bautista, Adrian Perez and Juan Guadian. Approvals were contingent on the district receiving the appropriate credentials or temporary permits by June 30, 2015. According to the minutes, many of the approvals specifically note contingency language: documentation of the appropriate credential or a Temporary Teaching Permit or University Internship valid through 2015–16 must be provided by June 30, 2015.
The motion to approve the personnel items (14.7–14.16) was made by Trustee Jesus Zavala and seconded by Trustee Isabel Maldonado; the board voted 7-0 to approve the slate. The item had been discussed in closed session earlier in the evening for public employee appointments.
The approvals do not appear to include longer-term contract language beyond the standard credential contingencies recorded in the minutes. The board reconvened from closed session and recorded the vote and the 11:28 p.m. adjournment.
