Supervisor urges itemized PESH work and seeks reimbursement for heating-oil containment

The supervisor updated the board on New York State Department of Labor / PESH matters, saying the outstanding issue to close the inspection is installation of a containment system for the heating-oil tanks. He told the board he had met with the PESH inspector and requested an estimate from the highway superintendent but had not yet received it.

The supervisor asked the board to make a formal request for an itemized list of labor and materials for the remediation work so the town can file for reimbursement; he said, "I think we have a good shot at getting maybe 80% of this money reimbursed." The board voted to formally request the itemized invoice and documentation from the highway superintendent so the town can pursue reimbursement.

Board members also discussed timelines; the supervisor cited a Feb. 13 date the town may be working against and said he would follow up to determine whether an extension or further action is required. No funds were authorized at the meeting pending receipt of the estimate and itemized documentation.
