Town approves RM Dalrymple contract to remove old fuel tanks; quoted cost about $9,240

The town board approved a proposal from RM Dalrymple Company Inc. to handle decommissioning and removal of old fuel tanks as part of the previously approved tank-replacement project. The supervisor described the scope: technicians will transfer fuel to temporary tanks, remove residue, cut apart the old tanks, dispose of material and provide a closeout report.

The supervisor read the vendor's quote: "Total cost is $9,240." He said the work expands the previously approved tank-replacement scope and that the town remains under budget by roughly $60,000 in the reserve being used for the project. A board member noted payment terms are balance due upon completion; the supervisor said the town will pay the contractor when the work is finished.

The motion to authorize the supervisor to sign the proposal passed. Board members discussed timing and winter conditions for transfer, and the supervisor said he would sign and send necessary paperwork after the vote.

No amendments to the project budget were made at the meeting; the board treated the tank removal as a necessary part of the existing replacement project and authorized the additional scope with standard payment-upon-completion terms.
