Sweet Home SD 55 board approves hires, resignation and summer school staffing

The board approved the consent agenda, which included approval of board and work session minutes from July 13, 2026; the hire of Katie Syworth as a fourth-grade teacher at Heights effective Aug. 31, 2026; Scott Boyer as a high-school science teacher effective Aug. 31, 2026; and Emma Gardner as a social studies teacher effective Aug. 31, 2026. The board also accepted the resignation of Marisol Nando, a special education opportunity teacher at Foster Elementary, effective Aug. 6, 2026.

Committee members also approved summer school staff assignments and schedules: several teachers were listed with dates for summer programming across district schools. A motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded and the board voted in favor; no roll-call vote by name was recorded in the transcript.
