Council approves conveyance of city property to redevelopment authority for affordable housing

Council adopted an ordinance conveying city-owned real property to the Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RHA) for the purpose of constructing affordable and/or workforce housing. The item had been tabled from a prior meeting, and council adopted the ordinance on a unanimous voice vote (5-0). No additional discussion was requested during the meeting.

City staff noted the item had been properly introduced and discussed at previous meetings; the council's unanimous vote cleared the way for the RHA to proceed with development planning under the terms of the conveyance.
