Board unanimously approves purchase of attendance credits to net chapter 48 funding

The board voted unanimously to approve an agreement for the purchase of attendance credits to net Chapter 48 funding for the 2026-27 school year and delegated contractual authority to the superintendent.

"I move that the board approve the agreement for the purchase of attendance credits, netting chapter 48 funding for the 2026-27 school year and delegate contractual authority to obligate the school district under Texas Education Code, TEC 11.1511 c 4 to the superintendent," Trustee Lane moved. After a second, the chair called for a voice/hand vote and the motion passed unanimously.

The item was taken now to meet state requirements; administration indicated the agreement is required annually whether or not the district expects to owe recapture.
