Votes at a glance: CFISD board meeting, Aug. 10, 2026

The Cypress‑Fairbanks ISD Board took multiple formal actions at the Aug. 10 meeting. Highlights: the consent agenda passed unanimously; the board adopted a tax‑rate resolution (6–1); the board adopted an order calling a voter‑approval tax‑rate election (VADER) (6–1); and the board adopted an order calling a bond election (6–1). The board also approved the 2026–27 student code of conduct and the safety and security audit cycle report unanimously, adopted the Harris County hazard mitigation plan resolution unanimously, tabled a TASB Region 4 nomination indefinitely (5–2), and rescinded a notice of termination for Juan Grover (motion passed with six approvals and one abstention).

Each vote was taken following standard procedure with motions, seconds and voice/hand votes. The board announced that items related to the bond and bond scope sheets are posted on the district bond website and that the policy revisions on the agenda were approved on first reading to return for second reading in September.
