911 director requests wage increases and prepares for dispatch relocation costs

The 911 director outlined the dispatch budget and said the largest increases were for employee compensation and for service agreements related to an anticipated relocation. He said the department asked for a 6% wage increase to help recruitment and retention, and that radio and service contracts will require about $12,000 per year once warranties expire.

He told commissioners the department is planning for potential extra part‑time help and overtime during the transition to a new building and that some contingency funds are intended to avoid repeated supplemental appropriation requests as the project moves toward bids and construction.
