Lincoln Park Main Street wins state awards; board reports outreach, Avenue D survey concerns

Lincoln Park Main Street presented its third‑quarter report to the City Commission on Aug. 10, highlighting two partnership awards from the Florida Secretary of State and a slate of community programs and grants aimed at downtown revitalization.

"Florida Secretary of State and Florida Main Street hereby recognize the contribution of City Of Fort Pierce to Lincoln Park Main Street resulting in the City Of Fort Pierce Florida Highway Museum," Shelby Jones said while reading the award text. The board briefed commissioners on façade‑grant projects, a business‑directory rollout, volunteer hours (reported values for museum and board efforts) and survey feedback related to the Avenue D road‑construction project.

Presenter Miss Carruthers reviewed survey results and program metrics, saying the third quarter produced increased website and social‑media reach and that the group collected about 28 surveys in June focused on Avenue D. Business owners cited traffic disruption and detours as their primary concern; residents and merchants urged quicker project completion and maintenance assurances.

Commissioners praised the award recognition and urged continued outreach and collaboration, with one member offering to represent the city at the state awards ceremony. The commission asked staff and the Main Street boards to continue rolling out the business directory and to return with an updated Q4 report that includes promotion and event outcomes.
