Board members approved Board Policy 2124 to align the county superintendent's employer contribution for health and welfare benefits with the certificated management employee group.
Administrator (S4) explained the change: "the county superintendent shall receive the same health and welfare benefits as MCLE employees. The employer contribution shall be the same as that of the certificated management employee group." S4 said the practice had been applied administratively in prior years but was not codified in board policy, and the recommended text is intended to reconcile practice and policy going forward.
Board members asked clarifying questions about timing and the potential for differences among employee groups; S2 moved to approve policy 2124 as written and S3 seconded, and the board voted in favor. The change will bring policy language into alignment with recent practice, the administration said.
